Questions and answers

Loft beds

Who are Nizio loft beds designed for?
Loft beds are designed for people who want to maximise floor space – the elevated sleeping area frees up valuable space underneath. They work perfectly in children’s rooms, teenagers’ bedrooms, studio apartments, and small bedrooms. Use of the upper level is recommended from the age of 6, while the 200 kg weight capacity and solid wood construction make the bed suitable for teenagers and adults as well.
What are the differences between models N01–N06?
The models differ in ladder placement and side panel design. N01 and N02 feature a ladder on the short side – vertical in the N01 and angled in the N02. N03, N04, N05, and N06 have the ladder on the long side and differ only in the design of the side panels. All models have the same 200 kg weight capacity, the same finishes and sizes, and are available both with and without a desk. The choice depends on room layout and personal style preferences.
What mattress sizes fit a loft bed?
Loft beds are available in 12 mattress sizes: widths of 80, 90, 100, or 120 cm and lengths of 180, 190, or 200 cm. The slatted base, consisting of three permanently bonded frame sections, is included in the price. The mattress is not included and should be selected separately according to the user’s age and preferences.
What does the 142 cm clearance mean, and what is the custom-height option?
Clearance refers to the height of the free space beneath the sleeping area. The standard clearance is 142 cm. Upon request, it can be increased to between 143 and 170 cm for an additional charge, providing more flexibility when furnishing the area beneath the bed. The clearance height is selected when placing your order.
Can a loft bed be customized to individual requirements?
Yes. In addition to custom clearance options, we offer custom bed dimensions and finishing in any RAL or NCS color, alongside our eight standard finishes. This allows you to match the furniture perfectly to your interior in terms of both size and color. Details of custom orders can be arranged by contacting us directly.
Which colors and finishes are available for loft beds?
Eight finishes are available: white, grey, white/oak, black/oak, clear pine, natural pine, natural oak, and bleached oak. Lacquered finishes are the most affordable, while oak finishes are the most expensive. Upon request, we can paint the bed in any RAL or NCS color. All finishes are created using certified water-based paints compliant with EN 71-3.
Are the paints used in the finish safe for children?
Yes. The finish is created using certified water-based paints compliant with EN 71-3, which regulates the migration of harmful substances in products intended for children. Once dry, the coating is odorless, durable, and safe for contact with a child’s skin.
From what age can a child sleep in a loft bed?
We recommend using a loft bed from the age of 6. The upper sleeping area is protected by a safety rail, all edges are rounded, and all connections are free from visible screws. The bed can also be secured to the wall using the mounting kit included with the product. With a weight capacity of 200 kg and solid wood construction, it is designed to serve from childhood through adulthood.
Which safety standards does the loft bed comply with?
The loft beds comply with European standards EN 747 (bunk and elevated beds – safety and strength requirements) and EN 1725 (beds and mattress supports). The upper level is protected by a safety rail, all edges are rounded, and screws are concealed. The maximum weight capacity is 200 kg.
What type of wood are Nizio loft beds made from?
We manufacture our beds exclusively from solid pine wood, solid oak wood, or a combination of both – without MDF or particleboard. Solid wood is more durable and resistant to damage than engineered wood products, and its surface can be refreshed after years of use. Every piece is made to order in a Polish workshop with over 60 years of experience.
How is the bed constructed, and is assembly difficult?
The side panels are delivered pre-assembled, while the slatted base consists of three permanently bonded frame sections connected to the bed frame. This reinforces the structure and maintains stability even after repeated assembly and disassembly. Assembly itself is straightforward and does not require experience or specialist tools; the remaining components are connected using premium fittings and the included instructions. Nizio does not offer an assembly service, but most customers assemble the bed themselves without difficulty.
On which side can the ladder be installed?
The ladder can be installed on either the left or right side of the bed. The decision is made during assembly, so there is no need to specify it when placing the order. This allows you to adapt the bed to the room layout and the position of windows, doors, or other furniture.
Can the bed be fixed to the wall?
Yes. A wall-mounting kit is included with the bed. This is particularly recommended for children’s rooms, as it increases stability during play and while climbing the ladder. Installation is simple and does not require any modification of the bed structure.
How long is the lead time for a loft bed?
Each bed is made to order, and production takes 2–3 weeks. Shipping then requires an additional 2–5 business days, depending on the destination country. Because every bed is produced to order, you receive furniture configured exactly to your chosen model, finish, size, and clearance height.
Can a loft bed be returned?
Yes. You have 100 days to return the bed without providing a reason. This allows you to order, assemble, and evaluate the bed at home before making your final decision, which is particularly important when purchasing larger furniture online. Every bed is also covered by a 10-year warranty.
How much does a loft bed cost, and what affects the price?
The price of each configuration is displayed on the product page in your local market currency. It depends on the model (N01–N06), mattress size, finish, clearance option, and whether the bed includes a desk. Lacquered finishes are the most affordable, while oak finishes are the most expensive. Custom clearance and a built-in desk are optional upgrades, with surcharges shown in the configurator.
What payment methods are available, and can I buy on installments?
Available payment methods and financing options are displayed in the cart before checkout. The available options depend on the delivery country, as different countries are supported by different payment providers and financing programs. The system will automatically show the current options available for your country based on the delivery address.
Do you deliver loft beds internationally?
Yes. We ship our beds throughout Europe on pallets that protect the furniture during transport. Individual packages are carefully packed. For Poland, Germany, and Austria, an optional room-of-choice delivery service is also available in the cart.
What happens if the furniture arrives damaged?
The risk of damage is minimal thanks to palletized transport and careful packaging. Upon delivery, we recommend inspecting the shipment and taking photos if anything appears unusual. If any component arrives damaged, contact us and we will send a replacement part without requiring the return of the entire bed. Inspecting the shipment with the courier helps simplify the process, but does not affect your right to report damage later.
Can I order wood or color samples before purchasing?
Yes. Upon request, we can send samples so you can evaluate the wood grain and color in person before choosing a finish or a custom RAL/NCS color. This is especially useful if you want to match the bed to furniture already present in the room. To receive samples, simply contact us and let us know which finishes you are interested in.
